Write a Thank You Note That Shows True Appreciation

By Lily Iatridis  December 31, 2013

Have you ever received a thank you note that's actually thanked you for a gift you didn't give? Better yet, have you ever received one of those fill-in-the-blank pre-printed generic thank you notes where the sender only filled in your name after "Dear" and their signature? I'm really not a fan of those.

Why not make writing a great thank you note a structured writing lesson for your kids? After all, they're going to have to write them anyway.

A great thank you note should make the gift giver feel truly appreciated. This requires specific descriptions of the gift received and how it's being enjoyed in a positive way.

Happy new year and see you in 2014!
