Analytical Writing: Highs and Lows of Summer

By Lily Iatridis  July 31, 2015

Whenever you're at the end of something, be it a curricular unit, a family event, or a season like summer, taking time to reflect and write about it is valuable on several levels.

Reflective writing exercises analytical thinking skills by getting your kids to focus on what to repeat, how to improve, and things to let go of.

It's an excellent practice that should be part of your regular routine.

The video clip below gives instruction on reflective writing about the highlights and lowlights of summer. If you haven't done this type of writing prompt, try it! If you have, watch the video to compare your method with mine and make adjustments as you see fit.

After all, the most important way teachers improve is by sharing ideas and methods with other teachers.

Take whatever opportunity you can to do that!
